Marina Bay is man-made. Reclamation was carried out from the 1970s to the 1990s. Our current Downtown, where the main financial district is located, is quickly running out of space. Marina Sounth is where Singapore's future Downtown is planned.
Facing it is a triangular piece of reclaimed land called Marina Centre - it is home to a large convention centre called Suntec City, mega shopping malls, 5-star hotels, our latest pride - Esplanade - theatres on the bay.....and lots of beautiful PUBLIC ART.
